All about studies at LSMU – in Higher Education Fair in Dublin
LSMU representatives participated in annual Higher Education Fair, organized by Dublin International Foundation College (hereinafter – DIFC) on the 14th February 2019. About 30 educational institutions from United Kingdom and Ireland took part in the event, among them LSMU was the only institution outside these countries. The main goal was to provide DIFC students opportunity to communicate directly with the representatives of universities, to know better application requirements and supply more information on studies abroad.
During the Fair at LSMU stand participants were interested in entrance exam to LSMU requirements, how to prepare better for studies. They could get the newest informational brochures about university infrastructure and study programmes, LSMU souvenirs.
LSMU representatives have been given opportunity to do university presentation for DIFC students. International program coordinator Kristina Kavaliauskaitė has presented LSMU infrastructure, study programmes, student life to the participants of Higher Education Fair. International program coordinator Agnė Jašauskaitė ran the quiz about Lithuanian culture, traditions, which allowed participants get to know our country better from different perspectives.
LSMU alumni – Martin Hashemi (Sweden) and Jinho Ahn (South Korea) – both graduates of Odontology faculty, who work and reside in Dublin now – have joined our team for the event. They have shared their experience and counselled prospective students during Higher Education Fair. Prospective students have actively communicated with our alumni, asking questions about study quality at LSMU, competences of the professors, microclimate in the groups, extra-curricular activities, psychological help and career opportunities after graduation.
Collaboration between LSMU and DIFC has proved already fruitful: the increase of awareness in Ireland of LSMU English-taught Medicine, Nursing, Odontology and Pharmacy study programmes; students trust our university and its study quality. On the 7th Of May the entrance exam to LSMU for DIFC applicants will take place, we hope that this visit will benefit for prospective students’ choices in the future.
