LSMU Emmanuel Levinas Center is located in Kaunas, on a prestigious street of the interwar capital, in a building designed by Vytautas Landsbergis-Žemkalnis. The building is historically associated with France, where the French, who resided in the temporary capital, lived for many years.
In the historic part of the present Center, the French Consulate was established, and the chancellery of the French Embassy operated.
