The last day of calendar winter, 28 February, was special at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) – during the festive LSMU Senate’s meeting, Master diplomas were awarded to Lifestyle Medicine and Veterinary Medicine graduates. “This is a very important day for you and your family members, who entrusted you to our University. Along with the tremendous responsibility, it is a great honour for us”, - greeted the LSMU Senate’s Chairman, LSMU MA Cardiology Institute Director Prof. Rimantas Benetis.
The LSMU Veterinary Academy Chancellor Prof. Mindaugas Malakauskas congratulated the certified veterinary and lifestyle medicine specialists and pointed out that diplomas symbolize work and effort, invested in the University studies. “I believe that you will make Lithuania known and build it with your work, and you will not forget that your road to success began at the University”, - said Prof. Mindaugas Malakauskas. The Chancellor expressed a wish for a speciality not to become a frame which puts limits and encouraged to seek what the heart desires.
The 28 February event of the diplomas award is special in the way that the first Lifestyle Medicine graduates finished the LSMU on that day.“Thank you for not being afraid and having chosen this entirely new study programme not only in Lithuania, but also in the whole Europe, and today you have become our first ambassadors. You have chosen a hard and responsible path, therefore, I wish you to continue persistently pursuing your goals”, - said the LSMU Public Health Faculty Dean Prof. Ramunė Kalėdienė greeting the first certified lifestyle medicine specialists.
The new University graduates on the occasion of completing their studies were also congratulated by the Veterinary Faculty Dean Prof. Vita Riškevičienė. She agreed with Prof. Mindaugas Malakauskas saying that in their path of life they will have to escape from the inborn boundaries. “Your chosen profession is a gift of devotion to others. Be happy with this gift and share it with others”, - said Prof. Vita Riškevičienė to the participants of the event.
Apart from the University representatives, Members of the Parliament and politicians also congratulated the participants of the diplomas award event.
