LSMU presented at the European Higher Education Fair Japan 2020 Webinar series

“Why study in Europe?” - the topic of Webinar series, where on 11 November 2020, Dean of the International Relations and Study Center Prof. Ingrida Janulevičienė presented studies at LSMU to prospective students from Japan. Along with LSMU, several other Lithuanian universities participated in the fair.

The Webinar series was hosted by EU Delegation to Japan, an entity that enjoys the full status of a diplomatic mission, represents the EU in Japan, and fosters cooperation in science and innovations among other fields. Webinar took place on the Zoom platform; following the presentation, attendees asked various questions about Lithuania and studies, both in English and in Japanese.

Currently, there are two Japanese students studying at LSMU. LSMU has a contract with the University of Hiroshima, Faculty of Medicine. In the past two years, two LSMU doctoral students went to Japan, and two Japanese students arrived to the Faculty of Medicine. The Japanese students have worked on their non-clinical research here; also two LSMU professors went to the University of Hiroshima.

Participation in the fair is a very important step for LSMU in establishing relations with Japan through inviting Japanese students to Lithuania and thus spreading the news about high quality of studies in Lithuania. Further perspectives are to initiate dialogue and work on inviting Japanese professors to teach at LSMU so as to offer greater expertise, an even better study quality, and promote mutually beneficial exchange.
