The popularity of LSMU is drastically increasing among Indian students

Assoc. Prof. Aurelija Blaževičienė, head of the department of Nursing and Care; Milda Mankelevičienė, international programme coordinator; and Jevgenij Razgulin, psychologist of the international students; were visiting Chennai and Kochi, India, from 18 to 24 July. During this visit, the LSMU representatives arranged four entrance examination sessions for Indian applicants. A total of 39 applicants sat the test of biology and chemistry and had interviews with the LSMU representatives. Of them, 34 applicants were invited to study at LSMU: 11, Nursing; 18, Master of Advanced Nursing Practice; 1, General Medicine; 2, Pharmacy; 1, Veterinary Medicine; and 1, Odontology.  

Presentation about LSMU and its study programmes, international students’ support services, Kaunas and Lithuania were given for the audience as well. Assoc. Prof. Aurelija Blaževičienė also presented detailed information about the Nursing and Advanced Nursing Practice study programmes at LSMU. The LSMU representatives answered questions about the academic and practical students’ life at the University. Further cooperation between LSMU and the Europe Study Centre, and new study programmes in English were discussed during the meetings with Mr. Abdul Razak, the head of this biggest student’s recruitment agency in India and Middle East and with members of his team.

This visit to India was very successful as Nursing and Advanced Nursing Practice programmes will be provided in the English language at LSMU for the first time in the history of the University. Also, after the successful campaign in India, the expected numbers of the Indian students at LSMU should increase twice in the next academic year and greater numbers of Indian students are expected to join different new study programmes at LSMU in the future.
