25th Anniversary of LSMU International Studies

25 years ago Kaunas Medical Academy (currently Lithuanian University of Health Sciences) welcomed first international students to study medicine in English. It was a huge challenge to ensure quality studies after regaining independence; however, trust, enthusiasm, and hard work of all academic community resulted in constantly growing interest to study in Kaunas. Starting from just a few students from Lebanon, now there are 682 international students from 48 countries all over the world studying at LSMU!

The whole community of LSMU will celebrate this special date on 6 November 2015. The ceremony for this anniversary will be held at National Kaunas Drama Theatre where all the guests and especially LSMU international students will have a wonderful chance to listen legendary songs lively performed by Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra.

The memorable evening of giving thanks will be accompanied by extraordinary music with LSMU chorus ‘Neris’ and the unique chorus of international students ‘Kebapella’, who will be performing songs in an acapella style.

On this special occasion, Professor Remigijus Žaliūnas, Rector of the University, cordially invites all international students and academic community on 6 November 2015 to honour and celebrate the most significant moments of the past 25 years, while having hope and enthusiasm for many more to come.
