The Community of LSMU International Students is Expected to Increase

2017-04-14

During 21-28 March, Aušra Surantienė and Kęstutis Gasevičius, international programme coordinators of the International Relations and Study Centre, Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) participated in the higher education fairs for Morocco graduates organised by company ‘a2 International Education Fairs’ and gave information on the LSMU study programmes, Kaunas city, country and its culture.

‘a2 Fairs’, having years of experience in the organization of students recruiting fairs, invited participants from many countries to present their institutions in Casablanca and Marrakech. One day was planned to visit private schools: Berrada group Schools, Al Madina Schools, Lahlou Schools and Sharif Al Idrissi Schools.  As expected, the majority of graduates thought about medicine studies, but a significant number of young people were also interested in pharmacy, veterinary medicine and other programmes.

During the visit to Morocco, the LSMU representatives met with specialists of students’ recruitment agency ‘Flex Class’ and visited Foreign Studies agency ‘Universal Education’, the employees of which assured the great opportunities for the local market and are ready to cooperate in the selection of talented students and organising entrance exams.

Morocco, the African country closest to Europe with its deep history and traditions as well as for almost half a century being a French protectorate, is currently regarded as one of the most democratic Islamic countries. Although Arabic and French languages dominate in the country by now, the younger generation is able to communicate in English very well. The Moroccan population is increasing and approaching 40 million inhabitants, so there is intense competition among higher education institutions in the market and young people are increasingly looking to overseas universities. We hope that LSMU will be one of them.
