The Irish Were Invited to Study at LSMU

2017-03-30

A. Surantienė and L. Dobilienė, international programme coordinators at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU), promoted studies at the higher education fair, organised the entrance examination, met with the agents and the University graduate as well as visited the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to Ireland during their visit in Dublin.

Medicine and Veterinary Medicine study programmes attracted the most attention at the international higher education fair. It is nice to admit that Umer Cheema, the graduate in medicine in 2011, also participated in the fair. He works at the Ireland hospital (Cheltenham General Hospital) as a doctor in psychiatry. The University representatives provided detailed information about the studies to all the interested while the alumnus kindly shared his impressions and experience with the young people and their parents.

On 12 March, 5 applicants successfully passed the entrance examination to LSMU and were invited to study Medicine, Pharmacy and Veterinary Medicine at LSMU. Students’ recruitment to the University was discussed with the Irish agents. During the meeting, Nursing and Occupational Therapy, the new study programmes to be offered in English, were particularly discussed in order to find out the demand of these programmes in Ireland.

Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Ireland R. Adomaitienė and Counsellor V. Umbrasienė kindly welcomed the University representatives. During the meeting, the information about the University, students and the International Relations and Study Centre activities was provided. It is a pleasing fact that the Embassy shares the information about studies at LSMU with the Lithuanian community of this country.
