Visit of the Mayor of Tripoli City to LSMU

The meeting with the mayor of Tripoli Dr. Nader Chazal was held in the LSMU library. He was accompanied by Dr. Mohammad Abdulhamid Chamsin, member of the Tripoli City Council, member of the committee of health at schools, and the first foreign student, who graduated from Kaunas University of Medicine.

 The guests were welcomed by the LSMU Rector Prof. Remigijus Žaliūnas, Dean of the Center of International Relations and Studies, Prof. Žilvinas Padaiga, and Vice Dean Dr. Alvidas Šarlauskas. During the meeting they discussed the cooperation possibilities between LSMU and Lebanon, including publicizing of LSMU in Lebanon. The guests agreed about particular cooperation plans. The Rector introduced the LSMU school to the guests. “We would be interested in joint projects and teachers exchange between the LSMU school and Tripoli schools,” – told Prof. Remigijus Žaliūnas. The mayor of Tripoli city assured that he World study such possibilities.

After the official meeting the guests met the LSMU graduate, who works in one of Kaunas hospitals. They were joined by numerous Lebanese students studying at LSMU. The mayor showed interest in their situation, quality of studies and leisure.
